Is the price fixed?

The price given is fixed. You will not be asked to spend anymore money.

 

How long will it take to build my loft?

Some lofts are larger than others, some are more complex than others.  As a rough guide the structure could be completed within 4-6 weeks

 

Will there be a lot of dust?

Most of the materials are taken in from the roof so dirt and dust will be minimal until we have to provide access to the new loft room. Premier package also includes a full house clean before we leave.

 

Do I need planning permission?

In most cases no unless you live in a listed building or a conservation area, It is worth checking with your local authority.

 

How long will it take before we can start?

Before your loft conversion is carried out, plans and sections need to be drawn, some may need planning (6-8 weeks), structural calculations, building the stairs, fabricating steel and informing the relevant authorities that we are going to be working on your loft. For us to get everything ready a rough estimate would be between approximately between 3-4 weeks.

 

Who supervises the work you are going to carry out in my property?

An independent building control company will check that everything we build complies with current building regulations. This is beneficial for you because you get your building regulations certificate and you can trust us to meet an approved standard. Also your personal Site Manager will oversee the project from start to finish, ensuring the highest standards are met on your property.

 

Do I need to talk to my neighbour about my loft conversion?

If one of the walls to your house adjoin a wall of your neighbours house and we need to use it in your loft, we will need to comply with the Party Wall Act etc 1996. We will send you a letter and ask you to take it round to your neighbour and ask them to sign it. (further information is available at the bottom of this page).

 

What insurance do you have?

We carry full public and employers liability which is underwritten by one of the largest and best known companies in the UK.

 

We have a ‘W‘shaped modern trussed roof in the loft, can this still be converted?

A trussed roof is different to a traditional purlin roof, but yes we can convert your loft.

 

Can I change the plans once they are drawn?

Simply call the office and ask to speak with one of our Operation Managers who can advise you accordingly
